Getting Buzzed

Here's what I'm buzzed on:

The Wire- Steph and I have just finished watching the 4th season of HBO's crime drama "The Wire." It took me a while to get into the series (probably because Dr. Chris L. slurped it for so long like it was a snow cone or something), but once that shit got it into my veins I was hooked. Supposedly the show is a highly realistic take on the drug scene in Baltimore, or at least that's what HBO says. It's nothing like the Baltimore I remember, but then again Steph and I never really ventured any further than the Inner Harbor. After watching the show, I'm glad that we didn't.

Watchmen- When it comes to movies, I try not to get overly excited about coming attractions since the majority of films that Hollywood puts out tend to be let downs. Plus, despite Hollywood's recent success at making half-way decent comic book movies, their overall record is pretty dismal. At least in my book, it is. Still, the closer we get to the Watchmen release, the more hopeful I become that it might actually be good.

Let's do the check list: Rated R? Check.
That's it. That's the check list. If it's rated R, it at least has a shot of being good.

Rum and Cokes- Not my favorite drink, but it's all I had in the house. What's important though is that I'm buzzed.

Shooting Craps in Black Hawk- July just can't come fast enough. As soon as the word came down that the wise and noble people of Colorado had ordained it acceptable to bet on the outcome of tumbling dice, I've been frothing at the mouth to play ever since. Rolling the bones is going to be a blast. For a minute or two anyway, just until I run out of cash. But damn that will be a sweet two minutes. I wonder if I'll apologize to Steph out of habit when its over.

My Three Readers- Based on the comments left behind on my previous two blogs, I've already managed to lure three different people to my blog. Awesome. That's a lot more than I expected. And even though they only read my blog out of obligation, I'm still buzzed that they did. Oh, and for those of you keeping track, there's a three way tie on the name voting. Captain Oblivious and His Statements of Delusion, deVoid, and Casa De Faux Pas all have one vote. I don't know about you, but this contest has me at the edge of my seat.

  2. I got to tell you... I've been at the edge of my seat as well over this whole name blogging business. I check your blog about every 5 minutes throughout the day to see if it has a name yet. Gosh! What is the new name going to be?!!!

  3. I'm slyxdexic.... it's a blog naming business, not a name blogging business. Oy!

  4. Although I prefer the suggestion I gave in an earlier comment, of the above, I vote for "His Statements of Delusion".
